SCHEDULING A CONSULT OR WELL-BABY VISIT:

Please call Stephanie's cell phone directly: 720-297-6312. Please leave a message as to the nature of your concern. Stephanie will return your call at her earliest convenience. *The consults are fee-for-service. An insurance Super Bill will be provided if your insurance covers Lactation Consultations.

PHONE CONSULTS:

As a courtesy to the nursing mothers in our community, Stephanie is pleased to address brief questions and concerns via phone conversations (not to exceed ten minutes). Concerns that require attention beyond a brief conversation will be scheduled at a mutually convenient time so that Stephanie can focus her attention and address all of your concerns. A telephone consult fee will be assessed at $20/initial 15 minutes and then $1/minute thereafter.

HOME CONSULTS:

Consultations can also be conducted in the privacy of your home. Lactation consultations are comprehensive and generally last for 1 ½ to 2 hours. Home consultations are scheduled between 8:30am and 1pm during the week. Home visits are billed at $150 per visit.

Choosing A Breastpump That's Right For You

IDENTIFY YOUR NEEDS:

Will you be pumping on a daily basis, or just every-now and then so dad can take over the occasional 2am shift? Is your milk supply well established and you simply want to maintain your supply? Do you think you may need a hospital grade pump to initiate or increase your supply? Do you have a premature baby or multiples?

What's the difference between "hospital grade" and a "personal use" pumps?

“Hospital grade” pumps are breastpumps Becoming Mothers rents on either a daily or monthly basis. The Symphony and Lactina breastpumps are the same as those used in the community hospitals. A hospital grade pump may stimulate your body more effectively than a “personal use” pump. Personal use pumps are technically designed to maintain an existing milk supply rather than initiate a supply. Becoming Mothers supports the FDA recommendation and encourages our customers to research the potential risks of sharing a personal use breastpump. Personal use breastpumps are not recommended to share.

Why Medela?

Becoming Mothers exclusively offers Medela breastpumps. We do so as our experience validates that the 2-phase expression technology developed by Medela is the most sophisticated and most efficient, mimicking the nursing mechanics of a newborn at breast. We are pleased to review the merits of the pumps with you so that you can choose the breastpump that best meets your needs, should you be staying at home with your newborn, pumping an occasional bottle between nursing or returning to out-of-home work and need to stock up for your little one!

Thank you for shopping locally. The entire staff at Becoming Mothers sincerely appreciates your business and your confidence in our expertise.

ADDITIONAL SERVICES:

WELL BABY VISITS:

Also in the privacy of your home, Stephanie will schedule a Well-Baby visit. Different from a lactation consultation, a Well-Baby visit is an opportunity to have a lactation professional assess the nursing dyad. This is an ideal time to ask Stephanie all of your "is this normal", "am I doing this right" -type questions. Stephanie's years of experience is valuable to reassure the novice mother that she is indeed a fantastic mother! Should the concerns be more appropriate for a lactation consultation, Stephanie will discuss the concerns with the nursing mother. Well-Baby Visits are billed at $75 and generally last for 1 hour.

WEIGHT ASSESSMENTS:

Becoming Mothers offers complimentary before/after breastfeeding weight assessments and welcomes mothers to use the scale located at the store at any time during normal business hours: Monday-Saturday 10am-6pm and Sunday 12pm-5pm.

BREASTFEEDING CLASSES:

Becoming Mothers hosts " Just the Essentials" Breastfeeding Classes most months. Please check out our Class Calendar to see when the class will be offered next. Stephanie Moore, RN BSN, IBCLC and owner of Becoming Mothers, meets with expectant mothers to share the essential information that a nursing mother needs to appreciate the dynamics of the breastfeeding dyad's relationship. The class is relaxed, entertaining, interactive, and pertinent. Stephanie covers "just the essentials" - the information mothers need to know during the first few weeks breastfeeding baby. The objective of this class is to give tools so as to make the "learning period" for the breastfeeding dyad a smooth one.
